Keep Austin Coding

Are the stereotypes about Texas true? are there really so many cowboys? Are things really that much larger in Texas? Does barbecue and football really dominate the cultural landscape? I am not qualified to say, but what I can say about Texas is that it is home to one of the most rapidly growing cities in the United States and with rapid growth come rapid, unexpected problems. Austin, and the United States in general, has been facing a shortage of skilled workers in programming and software development. Austin, Texas has been recognized as one of the centers of urban growth in the country and has drawn some of the largest tech companies as well as provided fertile grounds for the seeds of tech start-up companies. Business Insider says Austin had the second highest rate of job growth among the 40 largest metro areas, and some among the Austin community have begun calling Austin “Silicon Ranch” as a sibling city to California’s infamous “Silicon Valley”. With such a booming economy and a surplus of demanding Tech jobs, there is a need for skilled employees to fill those positions and as Hector Rivero, President of the Texas Chemical Council, points out, “We feel the education policy of our state is not meeting our employers’ needs.” To meet this growing need of skilled tech workers in one of the most rapidly developing cities, The Tech Academy is opening an Austin based campus to take students from having no experience in coding, and give them the skills they need to become full stack Junior Developers. While the Tech Academy provides it’s full curriculum and robust programming language training online and remotely to anyone in the world, complete with instructor resources and more; providing a physical campus in the heart of Silicon Ranch allows more students access to more resources to change their lives and meet the growing needs of the tech industry. The Tech Academy Austin will provide the same accessibilities as our other campuses such as open enrollment, with self-paced and flexible study schedules options. Austin students will also go through job placement training and have access to remote instructors during off hours and weekends. The Tech Academy provides the space and resources for students to learn at their own pace and in whatever way the student learns best. This provides an excellent learning environment for our students to excel and reach their potential. January 19th, 2019 the Tech Academy Austin will be open to students and for tours.
